Project "Noon" - social adaptation of children from orphanages

Since 2013, Rostelecom, along with the Interregional public organization "Educational and creative leisure company "Games of the Future", has been running an interactive educational program in orphanages and boarding schools aimed at career guidance of children in the field of telecommunications and adaptation in society. The focus is put on the "Noon" project of social adaptation of orphanages. Its main purpose is to enable graduates to form the necessary skills, competencies and value orientations for successful socialization.

The method of social adaptation has been developed in the Center of Interactive Educational Technologies (CIET) of M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University which is actively used for training university students. During the role plays, which is the main feature of the method, children participate in a specially designed situation, make difficult decisions, get life experience. As compared to traditional lessons, the game method of learning produces stronger emotions, which greatly facilitates the perception of information.

An interactive game is being developed under the "Noon" project to teach professions in the field of telecommunications. The main goals are as follows:

  1. Motivation of children to build career and make education plans;
  2. getting information about telecommunications professions;
  3. Broadening horizons;
  4. acquiring knowledge about the employment mechanism.

Following results of the project, a universal educational module is being formed, which can be run by non-professionals in the field of IT or communications and be used both in orphan asylums and in schools.

The program is designed for students of grades 8-10 and lasts three years.

Rostelecom helps children from orphanages to prepare for adult independent life in Moscow, Vladivostok, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg and Irkutsk. Volunteers of Rostelecom regularly take part in the program. From 2013 to 2018, more than 300 educational events were organized, which were attended by more than 200 children from 10 orphanages and 150 volunteers of the Company.

In 2018, a module of educational games "Digital Equality" was developed for the project, career guidance of participants in the field of telecommunications was offered, master classes in the art of acting were held.

Annual charity gala balls of the project "Noon" are part of the adaptation program. In a festive atmosphere, children get acquainted with the culture and etiquette of the ball, learn historical dances, and have an opportunity to communicate with adults on an equal footing. Every year the gala ball is attended by more than a hundred children from orphanages in Moscow and Moscow Region.
