Rostelecom Contact Center (D/O: Digital Operator; a Rostelecom subsidiary) and 3iTech, a leading Russian vendor of artificial intelligence-based solutions for business, started putting in practical use a large language model (LLM) in the speech analytics of Rostelecom Contact Center. Artificial intelligence will fundamentally change approaches to communication with clients and their requests processing.
Rostelecom put into operation a backup fiber-optic link between Syktyvkar and Ukhta. Owing to the new link reliability of communications services and modern digital services for residents of the northern regions of the Komi Republic and the entire Nenets Autonomous Region was improved significantly.

Rostelecom completed implementation of a domestic product for PDF-documents viewing and editing to replace foreign software products
Rostelecom cause inclusion of its in-house designed and developed Yaga system in the register of domestic software maintained by the Russian Ministry of Digital Development. This platform enables effective management of projects and tasks, as well as communications and collaboration arrangements between teams using the Articles module.
BULAT (a Rostelecom subsidiary), Russian manufacturer of telecommunications equipment successfully completed the initial stage of field trials of a prototype of the first domestic base station (BS) in GSM/LTE-1800 standards. 20 base stations were installed on a test segment in a commercial telecom operator's network; practical results obtained using the target hardware platform and software will be used in further development and optimization of the set of hardware and software.

Rostelecom launched a state-of-the-art Network Operation and Monitoring Center (NOC-Vostok) in Novosibirsk to replace 28 regional sites, monitor availability and provide round-the-clock management of network equipment in Siberia, the Urals and Far East.
NOC-Vostok opening signified the final stage in the deployment of a fundamentally new modern model of network infrastructure management, which has no analogue in Russia.

Rostelecom completed the second stage of the construction of the new trans-eurasian fiber-optic cable line (FOCL TEA NEXT) and announced its ready for commercial service status. The high potential of the new fiber link as early as at this stage enabled using two fibers of the ultra-high performance fiber link in the own needs.
Rostelecom was a telecommunications partner at the World Youth Festival, which took place from March 1 to 7, 2024 on the federal territory of Sirius and brought together 20 thousand young people from 190 countries. The national provider, together with its subsidiaries Tele2 and Solar, provided wireline and wireless communications and Internet services for the organizers and guests, ensured cyber protection for the entire digital infrastructure of the festival, as well as the event security using a smart video surveillance system.
The unified automated system for making inventory entries, analysis and monitoring of maintenance of Rostelecom's real estate assets (SKIT.SP) was certified for compliance with requirements of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development applicable for management and monitoring systems for telecommunications network resources, which evidences the product high technology efficiency and its functional maturity.
Rostelecom Contact Center (D/O: Digital Operator) registered in the register of domestic software maintained by the Russian Ministry of Digital Development its in-house developed intelligent digital assistant DO Digital Assistant RoBot (DO RoBot) for request processing.

The Russian Ministry of Digital Development included Rostelecom’s in-house developed Felix project management automation system in the register of Russian domestic software products. It is a PPM (Project Portfolio Management) grade solution enabling a company’s project portfolio management.
Within the framework of ABC of Internet project Rostelecom and the Russian Social Fund (SFR), as part of the ABC of the Internet project, developed a new “Using a smartphone basics” textbook. The manual is designed for senior citizens, people who are not always able to figure out easily on their own how to install a SIM card, configure a smartphone to suit their needs and use built-in applications.
Rostelecom completed development of a new “Digital Consultant” service for the retail industry. The solution designed using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies will help improve customer experience and free up store staff resources to perform functions where human participation is essential.
Synterra Media, a digital partner for the media content production, processing and delivery industry, completed its rebranding, introducing a new positioning statement, logo, visual language and unique identity.
Rostelecom launched the Digital Hotel system, a cloud-based solution for the hotel business to help automate key business management processes of any size hotel, from a small family run hotel to a large chain. The domestically developed PMS system (Property Management System) will enable hotels to replace software supplied by foreign vendors with a new flexible and scalable tool improving business efficiency.

Rostelecom completed a project to replace network equipment of the Federal Treasury’s largest departmental telecommunications network. The Company supplied to the customer’s all territorial departments more than 1 900 routers produced by the Russian leading developer and manufacturer of telecommunications equipment whose all production facilities are located in Russia.
Russian domestic manufacturer of telecom equipment BULAT LLC (a Rostelecom subsidiary) unveiled the first Russian-made commercial sample of a carrier-grade base station for mobile communications at the Digitalization of Industrial Russia Conference (CIPR-2024) in Nizhniy Novgorod.
"Synterra Media", a digital partner of the media content production, processing and delivery industry, started migration National Media Network to Russian-made equipment. Acceptance tests of domestically manufactured "Agat" adaptation equipment for transmission of professional TV signals over IP networks were completed.

Rostelecom and full-cycle IT service provider RTC-DC launched a new public cloud site in the Far East. The new point of presence located directly in the region will provide the far-eastern business with virtual infrastructure featuring high-speed and availability to enable provision of reliable services to its customers.
The Digital Inequality Elimination (DIE) project celebrated its tenth anniversary. The project has been implemented by Rostelecom with Tele2 technology support under a public contract with the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media and involves construction of fiber-optic links (FOCL) and provision of high-speed Internet access to villages, localities, small communities, settlements, auls with a population from 100 to 500 people.
Over a million cloud-enabled home video surveillance cameras from Rostelecom installed in apartments and houses across entire country enable on-line watching the situation in one’s apartment from anywhere throughout the world where Internet access is available, or viewing video recordings in the cloud, where recordings from cameras are stored for up to 30 days, depending on the pricing plan.

A full-cycle IT service provider RTC-DC enhanced its import-independent cloud-based service portfolio with Data Management Platform solutions, designed, developed and maintained by a Rostelecom subsidiary TData.
Synterra Media, a digital partner of the media content production, processing and delivery industry, ensured transmission of time synchronization signals via its own National Media Network using the PTPv.2 protocol. The advanced protocol is required for online broadcasting and remote TV production. The time synchronization system is provisioned completely on the basis of Russian vendors’ solutions.
Rostelecom announced creation of a commercial IT cluster to consolidate expertise and advanced developments of its IT subsidiaries. The cluster will offer to the market over 60 ready-made IT solutions covering a wide range of digitalization and business process efficiency improvement efforts.

Synterra Media, a digital partner of content production, processing and delivery industry in association with VGTRK (All-Russian State TV and Radio Company) completed creation of the united network, thus enabling the media holding to streamline TV and radio signals logistics and flexibly use its branch resources to produce and distribute TV and radio channels.
Rostelecom summed up the outcome of the project for video surveillance during the single voting day in 30 Russian regions. Some 15.3 thousand cameras installed on the premises of territorial and precinct election commissions ensured impeccable quality of video surveillance for the voting process and vote counting. Altogether 917, 343 hours of video transmission were delivered owing to the video surveillance system deployed by Rostelecom.

Its development was initiated by Rostelecom on the basis of the Cyber-Physical Systems Technical Committee (TC) for Standardization 194 of Rosstandart with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Rostelecom was on the list of top 10 best employers of the Russian Employer Rating according to hh.ru in the Largest Companies category. The Company became the best employer in the telecommunications industry ranking the eighth in the overall rating, which included 100 participants.

New training programs were launched in Russian Universities to train DevOps-engineers, which are specialists in continuous development and administration of software. Domestic infrastructure solutions called “Basis” which are developed by Cloud Platform company (a joint venture between Rostelecom YADRO è Rubytech) will be used in the course of training.
Rostelecom and the Russian Pension Fund developed a new Basics of Using Smartphone module for the advanced training course within the framework of Internet Alphabet program. The course materials describe specifics of using mobile devices, the concept of an application is explained, and the pre-installed and frequently used programs for smartphones are described in detail.
AK&M rating agency confirmed compliance of Rostelecom Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) reporting for 2021 with RESG 1 standard. In terms of reporting categories it means the highest level of public information disclosure in the public reporting of companies.
Rostelecom completed testing of wireless broadband network using private LTE (pLTE) technology, deployed at Uchalinskiy mining and processing plant (town of Uchaly, Republic of Bashkortostan). Owing to the implemented infrastructure, employees working in the mine underground will be able to communicate both with each other and with their colleagues on the surface likewise.
IT Import Substitution Center supported by Rostelecom started operations on the basis of MIREA-Russian Technological University. The Center will be able to train annually some 1500 students in most demanded IT professions.
On the Common Single Voting day on 9 through 11 September 2022, citizens of 7 Russian regions, namely Kaliningrad, Kaluga, Kursk, Novgorod, Pskov, Tomsk, and Yaroslavl regions were able to cast their votes using federal remote voting platform.
Video surveillance of the voting and vote counting processes was implemented both at district election commissions and on the premises of territorial election commissions in the Udmurt Republic, Vladimir, Kirov, Magadan, Novgorod, Penza, Ryazan, Sakhalin, Sverdlovsk, Tambov and Tomsk regions, as well as in the Republics of Sakha (Yakutia) and Khakassia. Rostelecom became the first federal-wide operator to receive official confirmation of the Russian origin of key digital platforms for providing services to the public. Wink video service, Rostelecom.Key digital platform for multi-dwelling units management, Smart House digital platform for apartment management were in 2022 entered into the Russian Software Register, maintained by the Minkomsvyaz. All the three platforms were developed in-house from scratch by internal IT developers teams of Rostelecom Group of Companies.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed Presidential decree to establish a joint venture called Joint-Stock Company Biometric Technology Center (BTC). The Joint Venture founding members are Rostelecom (owning 49% of shares), the Russian Federation acting by the Federal Agency for State Property Management (owning 26% of shares) and the Bank of Russia (owning 25% of shares).
Axenix and Rostelecom announced cooperation in business analytics and big data management to provide solutions for digital transformation of Russian enterprises.

As of June 1st, 2019 Rostelecom has abandoned charging for domestic long-distance telephone calls made from universal service payphones. Therefore starting from that date, phone calls made from any universal service payphone to any fixed-line telephone numbers throughout Russia will be free of charge, as earlier the Company cancelled charges for local and intra-area telephone calls. Russian Government Ordinance No.437 dated 26th March 2014 vests responsibility for providing universal communication services throughout the Russian Federation in OJSC Rostelecom. - April: Rostelecom completes the construction of Nothern optical flow – communication backbone which runs from Ekaterinburg through Khanty-Mansiysk, Surgut, Noyabrsk, Novy Urengoy to Salekhard. The speed of Internet access grew 4-10 times.
- May:The Federal Communications Agency (Rosvsyaz) and OJSC Rostelecom sign a 10-year contract on the provision of universal communication services. To eliminate digital inequality the Company will provide internet access points with a data transmission speed of at least 10 Mbit/s in over 13,600 settlements (with a population of between 250 and 500) throughout the country. Around 200,000 km of new fibre-optic telecommunications lines are to be laid.
Rostelecom completes work on a CCTV system for use during the 2014 United State Examination and begins coverage of the first exam in the main examination period. As stipulated in the contract, Rostelecom experts tested and installed hardware-software systems in more than 3,081 locations, including examination halls and regional data processing centres.
During the St.Petersburg International Economic Forum Rostelecom announces the launch of the beta version of its Sputnik search engine platform, focussed on socially important internet services. - June: Rostelecom makes a total saving of 4,896,459,129 rubles on its procurement budget from January through May 2014. Having adopted a programme aimed at boosting competition in its procurement operations, the Company sees an overall increase in the number of suppliers bidding in tenders, including small businesses. Economic benefits are achieved through additional savings as a result of genuine competition and by abandoning the use of intermediaries.
- July: Rostelecom completes testing of its powerful new CR class IP/MPLS hub network equipment. The testing programme involved leading international telecoms equipment manufacturers. The Company also begins testing its RGR class IP/MPLS PE hub router and CG-NAT devices used for transmitting network addresses at the communications network operator level.
The CCTV system organized by Rostelecom for the 2014 United State Examination operates satisfactorily during the additional examination period in all regions of the country. - August: Rostelecom announces the completion of the second and concluding phase of a deal with Tele2 Russia to create a new nationwide mobile phone operator. As a result of the deal, Rostelecom transfers all its mobile assets to the JV. Following the appropriate amendments to the JV’s founding documents Rostelecom’s share in the JV amounts to 45%.
