Rostelecom’s MPLS network

The high-speed IP trunk line is based on the resources of Rostelecom’s own primary network using MPLS (Multi-protocol Label Switching) technology to integrate video, speech and data transmission services

The network’s capabilities:

  • Coverage of all regions of the Russian Federation: 24 hub-level nodes and 110 regional distribution nodes;
  • More than 350 access points throughout the RF;
  • MPLS IP throughput capacity of 7.8 Tb/s;
  • Presence in foreign access points: Stockholm, London, Hong Kong, Frankfurt and Amsterdam;
  • Presence in Russian and international Internet traffic exchange points;
  • The most advanced equipment in Russia (Juniper T1600 core routers with a capacity of up to 1.6 TB/s; Juniper MX960 , Juniper MX480, Juniper M320 and Juniper M40 edge routers);
  • Certificate of compliance with FSTEC information security regulations;
  • Network of own data centres in Moscow, Kazan, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk.
