Moscow, Russia – September 22, 2021 – Rostelecom PJSC (MOEX - RTS: RTKM, RTKMP; OTCQX: ROSYY), Russia’s national telecommunications operator, today announces that it has achieved Resg1 or the highest ESG reporting score by Russia’s ESG rating agency AK&M. This represents an upgrade from the Company’s previous score Resg2 from last year and designates the Company as a leader in managing the most significant ESG risks and opportunities.

Since 2011, Rostelecom has been reporting on its sustainability performance in the areas of environmental protection, contribution to regional development, community, and employee empowerment.

Harnessing the power of digital technologies and services to address social and environmental challenges and giving individuals and businesses the tool to thrive has always been one of Rostelecom’s priorities. The new 2021-2025 Strategy announced earlier in April this year puts this commitment into practice through clear ESG targets set for the end of 2025. The new roadmap outlined steps towards further reduction of energy consumption, expansion of end-of-life equipment recycling programmes and continued roll-out of eco-friendly company offices. ESG principles are also incorporated into Rostelecom’s procurement management process, as well as its engagement with suppliers and clients.

Earlier in September this year, Rostelecom became one of the top three companies in Russia leading by corporate and social efficiency in AK&M’s rating. Designed to assess accuracy, transparency and efficiency of ESG reporting, AK&M identifies the best sector performers and serves as best practice for the professional and investor community.
