Rostelecom launches proprietory geographic information system solutions
Moscow, Russia – February 19, 2016 – Rostelecom PJSC (“the Company”) (MOEX: RTKM, RTKMP; OTCQX: ROSYY), Russia’s national telecommunications operator, today announces that it has launched its proprietary “Geodata Information System” (GIS) solutions, which contain software that provides geographical data support and services to businesses and governmental organisations at municipal, regional and federal levels.
The GIS software was developed by Rostelecom to provide geographical data mapping management and analysis that streamlines decision-making processes. The technology is based on a cloud computing and service-oriented architecture.
Geographic information services have a wide array of applications and are an effective solution for addressing issues relating to economic development, construction, environmental management, urban and regional planning, and the provision of public services.
