Rostelecom launches a new datacentre in Moscow for 100 racks

Moscow, Russia – August 26, 2020 – Rostelecom PJSC (MOEX: RTKM, RTKMP; OTCQX: ROSYY), the largest integrated digital service provider in Russia, today announces that it has launched a new datacentre unit in Moscow, with a total capacity of 100 racks.

The new unit, which has a total area of 500 sqm will be located on the first floor of the Moscow-I datacentre, but will be equipped with independent engineering systems, including refrigeration supply, guaranteed and uninterrupted power supply, as well as its own fire-safety systems .

The unit’s engineering infrastructure conforms with the industry’s Tier III standard for reliability. In terms of redundancy, it offers a minimum N+1 availability, which means that all engineering equipment have all what is required to operate plus a backup. Redundancy can include items like power feeds, diverse network paths, UPS, and diesel generators.

Pavel Kaplunov, Director General for Rostelecom datacentre, commented:
“The new unit is already in operation and has started to serve its first clients. Infrastructure maintenance will be jointly handled by RTK Datacentre and DataLine. Our new Moscow-IV datacentre, which consists of 2,000 racks and is at an advanced stage of construction is located right next to the new unit and that will also receive the Uptime Institute Tier IV certification. By the end of this year, we plan to commission two more facilities in Moscow, as well as datacentres in Saint-Petersburg and Novosibirsk.”
