Moscow, Russia – February 12, 2015 – Rostelecom OJSC (MOEX - RTS: RTKM, RTKMP; OTCQX: ROSYY), Russia’s national telecommunications operator, today announces that the Company covered an additional 6.6 million households with its fibre optic broadband network in 2014, highlighting Rostelecom’s leading market position. Expanding the fibre optic network is a key component of Rostelecom’s strategy, which was launched in 2014.

Sergey Kalugin, President of Rostelecom, commented: “By vigorously extending our fibre optic network, Rostelecom has reached a whole new level of development. Rostelecom is already a leader in the broadband and IPTV markets, with a 40% and 60% market share, respectively, and the Company has great potential to further extend this. These areas are key growth drivers for us, which is why it is important we continue to invest in building the infrastructure required to sell these services. We expanded our fibre optic network at a faster pace in 2014, and we now provide access to over 25 million households across Russia. Our aim is to increase our coverage to 33 million households over the next two years, meaning we could then offer fibre optic broadband services to two-thirds of the Russian population. Rolling out a high-speed fibre optic network across the country is a fundamental part of our strategy and we will continue investing in this to ensure Rostelecom remains competitive over the long term.”
