The key component of Rostelecom’s development strategy is to become a leading digital provider for business and individual customers across Russia. Mikhail Oseevskiy, the President of the Company:
“Rostelecom’s cybersecurity products have been widely exploited by our customers, which demonstrates high efficiency in terms of protection from cyberattacks. At the same time, as we develop our market leadership, we actively look to bolster our cybersecurity and technology competence and ensure there is a harmonious and efficient team in place, able to operate with limited financial resources. This is an important acquisition for us, which will help accelerate our growth, enhance our capability in assuring the increasingly complex range of proven and highly-demanded products, as well as expand our presence in the markets where we operate.”.

Rostelecom’s IS division will become part of Solar Security, thus forming an integrated cybersecurity competence centre. Solar Security will be responsible for further development and promotion of existing products and services, as well as the implementation of Rostelecom’s corporate and public projects in the space of data protection.

Solar Security will evolve into Russia’s national cybersecurity operator which will cover three key areas, including “Services”, “Brand new products” and “Full-scale cybersecurity solutions”.

The first business stream will incorporate a range of IS services within Russia’s leading cybersecurity commercial centre Solar JSOC, integrated with Rostelecom’s IS services. These include monitoring, investigation and response to incidents, IS systems, security control, external web-resources protection, cloud-based IS solutions and other.

Brand new technologies and cybersecurity products will be developed within the second stream, along with the promotion of existing Solar Security’s solutions for employee communication management (Data Loss Protection), Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) and Source Code Analysis Tools (SAST).

Solar Security will also be responsible for engineering and implementation of complex projects, such as creation of Security Operation Centres (SOC), State Centres for cyberattacks detection, prevention and recovery (GosSopka), Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) and Automatic Process Control Systems’ security provision, as well as design and maintenance of complex turnkey IS solutions.

Igor Lyapunov, who will take up the position of VP for Cybersecurity and remain Director General of Solar Security:
“As a market leader, we recognise our role in taking Russia’s cybersecurity technologies to a new level and redefining IS services standards. The combination of our high-end technologies with Rostelecom’s unique infrastructure and broad regional network will make a great partnership and will allow us to introduce a number of integrated IS solutions within a service model to the Russian market. Our new offering will include a range of facilities, such as security infrastructure based on Rostelecom’s network and data processing centres, as well as competence platforms to manage IS.
